Skinned Blog 2

"Skinners. Computers-machines-that hijacked human identities, clothing themselves in human skin. Except the flesh was just as artificial as what lay beneath." Pg 33 Chapter 3
"A skinner was nothing more than a computer that wore a human mask, hiding wiring and circuitry underneath a costume of synthetic flesh. A mechanical brain, duped into thinking it was real.Or, in this case: a mechanical brain duped into thinking it was Lia Kahn." Pg 33 Chapter 3

Lia Kahn is the same person with the same experiences and memories but her body was different. Lia's body was transferred into a mechanical one. Throughout the chapter it explains all the process that the doctors had to do in order to transfer all that they had of the old Lia into the new body. The model that was chosen was based on her weight, height, and  coloring.
With the explanation of all these downloading transfers we are acknowledge that technology has gone far and that sometimes being human is the best thing there is because most of the time there is a solution to everything. These skinners were computer programmed programs that would move for you, will let your brain function and help you speak.
This kind of language that is used in these two passage clearly explains what the term skinner means. This could easily manipulate people's minds into thinking that this mechanical programs do exists and that the future technology has so much to share with us. We are now in the present, but the future is so advanced that things like this could come within the months or years. Generations of people to come are going to be able to of the beauty of being human and enjoying every minute of new technology.
Specific techniques that are used could be imagery because it is clearly explained how these skinners are and how they are visualize. I could relate these skinners to robots because robots are people programmed to do things for us and is like seeing a person do the things asked for. Personally, I am amazed of how our future is so advanced and is like we have not yet realize that life has given us so much and that things within the help of technology are within our reach and is making us become lazy.
