This passage goes back to one of the essential questions of what does it mean to be human? Lia in this passage says that as long as she was human she was okay. Without a leg or arm, or just one of each or no skin she was going to be happy if she was still human. I think even though she has been in an accident she has a lot of positivism within her because she does not care about everything else, but to be human is the most important thing for her because she can still be breathing. Another positivism part would have to be the everything is possible if you want it enough and this very true.
If the doctors want her to be normal again and to function well they will have to be positive that if they use the skills and technology required Lia will be human again and she will be happy.
The language that is used in this passage is of pure positivism and people that are like Lia will get far because they know what they want and if they don't have everything they need they can still make out in life but being human and being real. Overall I think this book gives in a lot of thought on how to be human in a new body and is like a symbolism to me because it means that even though all this things happen life still keeps going. I personally like the people that are positive because they live life with pure happiness and that all the dreams that you want to make real are reachable and is up to you to be happy is your responsibility not somebody else's.

Lia was still trying to get accustomed to her new body, but I think they pressure her to much. By saying that they pressure her to much I mean the doctors or others tell her move your arm or leg, or speak, she is still traumatized from the accident she had and that sometimes can't quite remember of. She is not able to speak or move yet, she cannot believe this is happening to her.
In this passage Sascha is asking Lia these questions because she wants to know if Lia still seems to have a little bit of creativity skills or options to be again who she was but now in a different body. Is hard for Lia to be accustomed because maybe experiences and memories are still capture within,but Lia already knew her body and how it felt to be her. All Lia wants is to be who she was before, with no arms or legs, but she wanted to be the same person. It was not possible because her body was dead, but Lia herself was still alive. Meaning that is great to still live and be human and be grateful that life is still within yourself and keep living in the present and in the future.

Lia was in a different body, but she should be grateful that she did not die and that the doctors did everything to save her and transfer her into a new body,but alive.

I think it was a good idea to connect this speaking machine that way Lia is able to speak her mind. Doctors are always finding a new way to make their patients seem that everything is fine and the pain or situation would pass. Doctors are determined to use their resources such as their technology to focus on their patients in order to establish ways that could report back to them of how the patients are doing.

Lia was connected into all these machines that gave the doctors signs of when something was different and to the doctors these news of being able to move some muscles was great because this show that the patient was still within this world. It showed that the brain was starting to function again and that it was finding its way of how to establish sensory input. It is terrible to know that you've been in an accident but that is all they tell you at times because they don't want to worried the patient because then the recovery is not going to happen fast. Not being able to speak or barely move and yet the doctors tell you your fine. In this process of being in the hospital you are basically controlled by the machines they connect you to, the oxygen machines, the all body control system and the one that feeds you while your laying there. Another terrible thing is that the doctor tells you your fine, but you are not able to move one leg or arm and then your brain immediately goes to the idea of being paralyzed.
The doctors are always watching these machines because they tell you everything, the heart beat, blood levels and everything else that is working properly.After being in a very dangerous accident, just the sign of a finger moving is big news because the doctors know that the person is not paralyzed or in a coma.
Even though our world is not in the best standards I could truly say that technology is been the one that has been moving everything around this world. Machines like these that are put into hospitals to guide doctors in their work makes things easier. I am amazed at how fast hospitals get their patients checked up and out the door.
Through out the chapter Lia is not able to speak except with her eyes by blinking and then she is connected into a neural output line from the language center of her brain and whatever she was thinking the computer will speak it for you.Computers are the ones that manage everything, they are like people. In this world the humans now living in this planet are lucky to come across computers because with this technology we are able to communicate, transfer information and work. Computers are like cars and robots working fast but intelligently making good actions and helping people get around. Lia Kahn is the same person with the same experiences and memories but her body was different. Lia's body was transferred into a mechanical one. Throughout the chapter it explains all the process that the doctors had to do in order to transfer all that they had of the old Lia into the new body. The model that was chosen was based on her weight, height, and coloring.
With the explanation of all these downloading transfers we are acknowledge that technology has gone far and that sometimes being human is the best thing there is because most of the time there is a solution to everything. These skinners were computer programmed programs that would move for you, will let your brain function and help you speak.

This could easily manipulate people's minds into thinking that this mechanical programs do exists and that the future technology has so much to share with us. These two citations from the book Skinned by Robin Wasserman are two examples of technology. Lia is the main character she was in an accident and was really injured. Technology is so advance now that in the hospitals doctors could do miracles. They could transfer parts and try to establish new ways for things to work the same as before. At first is really weird but with the days it is possible to get accustomed to it.
The purpose of this passages is to inform that in hospitals technology is so advance and more in depth in the future we are going to have so much around to be able and cure people faster and easier. This advance technology used in hospitals is the one that keeps people alive and helps them go back to normal. The technology of this computers are the ones that are programmed to capture every minute and second of how a person is doing, if the heart rate is high or low and or the blood levels.In the future doctors are not going to be able and do their jobs because these computers are doing it for them. The computers are keeping track of how things should function. These computers we could relate to robots that do things within minutes and then have the results within minutes. It is amazing how fast everything is going. Medicine also works with technology to establish a conclusion of how many capsules are needed to be made and how many should go in each container. Going back to the passages of the book Skinned, Lia is living in a new body because all her body parts were transferred to a new body because the other one was destroyed completely. It is different to feel in a different body, but technology has gone far that it is possible to have things working again and the person alive.

Eureka and Technology Advances
Eureka is a television series show that has to do with a lot of technology. In this town located in Oregon, is called Eureka where there are a lot of scientists and smart people that try to solve mysteries that happen in the town. In Episode 2 that I watched in class, the episode consisted of a device that will erase what happened and the people will not remember what happened and then people will questioned them what happened and they would not know . It is a mind erased device. These kinds of mysteries are solved by a sheriff and two scientists.I say it has to do with a lot of technology because the sheriff Jack Carter lives in a well developed house that is constructed with a lot of technology. The house is monitored by a device that will do things for you. Everything now a days in the future is so advanced in technology that everything is resolved with a touch of a computer to do research or to find out what something is. In the future, technology will make us lazy because everything is being done for us, when in the past days we had to look into books for the answers. Time has changed everything from the past to the future. Labs, hospitals, schools use technology to get answers within seconds and then resolve the issue that humans might be faced with. I could say that technology has manipulated our human minds because sometimes we have forgotten about our old tasks, like reading a book and or going into a library to do research.
Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury
I picked Fahrenheit 451 as a good vision of the future because after reading it I understood that it has a good way of sensing that if society does not do anything the future could be like this. This book is constructed as a way to manipulate society into doing things that are not right, but that must be done because is the law. The law was that books had to be burned because this kind of literature is bad for society.In this book there are conformists and non-conformists some believe is right while others are trying to change the way society is being controlled by the governement. Much of society is being controlled by media and that technology is the now future and that reading books is in the past and that they don't teach you anything. Ray Bradbury as an author who loved reading books wanted to make his point by writing this book to let society know that if we keep letting this happen it is how society is going to be in the future. Bradbury wants to try to save us from this before it happens.I believe as humans we should do what we think is right for society's well being and that most of us, if we don't like a rule we do something to change it because if not the government would take over and manipulate our mind with technology, which will make us lazy and we get most of our knowledge from books not from technology because technology does everything for us.
The Light Straight From Heaven
I was searching for something that had to do with religion in the future and came across this image. This image shows how there is always that light at the end that protects all countries around the world from any harm. This light shows how in religion God is always present at all times. God is the one that guide us through what is right. Now in the future we are expericing a lot of natural disasters and diseases and wars that are killing a lot of our society. Most of the people that are religious are praying that most of these things have an ending and that everything stays at peace because where is our world going to end. Humans are put into this world for a purpose to reproduce and to help nature and mother Earth survive. There are many religious in the world, but we all as humans worship the same kind of ideas. If we have hope our future Earth is going to return to normal and everything will be the same,but humans need to give some of that faith and trust that in a near future that light of Heaven would shine over us to help us get thhrough. This light will be the light of God that will send a light of difference for natural disasters, diseases and wars to end.

This image shows how a future war could be with well-developed weapons and robots. In the future there will be more technology that is going to be used to be put into these robots. These robots with just a program programmed into them will do anything that you tell it to do.Thinking about it robots are the ones that are going to be established in the future to do things for us. It is good in a way but bad in another because it just makes us be lazy and not wanting to do anything. On the other hand is good because we will have one of these robots doing our tasks when were not able to do them or for them to do them quick.Looking at these robots they remind me of Transformers the movies because in those movies there is always robots fighting in a war to try to defeat the enemy. Right now we are in a war with Iraq and the U.S. is the potential country that everyone depends on for everything, but right now with the economy decreasing we are lowering our potential.Right now the highest will be China and maybe looking at it as a perspective in the future there will be a war of China and the U.S.

Underwater City
This image shows like a city underwater. In the future there would be a city underwater, where the streets will be up and down and then the rest will be water. I think basically everyone will come together as in humans and animals and we will live sharing the same place. In my opinion I think it will be really nice to experience something like the underwater city because we get to interact more with our animals and our nature. In this image I have notice that the trees are still around and will still be around for a long time because it is important for our nature. I also think that many people would not survive under water and will experience death or drowing.Looking it as in the persvective that much of the natural disasters that go around are of water, so I'm thinking that in the future many of the cities will be under water or will just dissapear.I think if we are lucky and are still alive we could experience this as humans in the future.When people first look at this image they don't believe that maybe in the near future this might happen and we might be expericing it. Some people might like the idea, while others might be frighten. I think is better to let the future decide if we should stay here or not and let it act.

These poems about the future are true because they make you think about your own future that you are going to approach soon. Let us do the right thing, Today. It is regarding we the people to do things that are good for the future and to not waste time in doing them. Better to do things today and feel accomplished than to leave things for a later time and then not feel as accomplished because you have to rush to get it done.In our future we are seeing different things, new technology, new cars, computers, and etc.Some of these things that are in the future now are dreams that one person has and makes it a reality. Things have change and now are better than the past ,where we did not have anything. Times have change and now we are more developed. The first poem has the first line that says that we should not worry and the last line that we should let the future take care of itself, everything is coming together slowly and everyone would be happy. Sometimes this is not the case because most of our future is decreasing because of our environment and because no one is helping to conserve the Earth. I believe if we all come together our future will be at its highest when new generations come in. Humans are the ones that shape our Earth, this is our home and we should consider it and help maitain it clean and safe.
Women Also Vote
I came across this image while I was searching for equality in the future and most of the images that come up are about women. I believe everey female and male have the right to do what they like, whether is something good for our future or something they feel is important to say who they are.I don't think there should be preference on who should vote or not. Everyone should get an equal vote because every vote counts as an individual thought. People in many countries don't allowed women to vote because they feel that women don't know what they are talking about and their vote could cause the election to go down.I think that women also should give their opinion because many women might think differentely, but it always surrounds around the same idea of why such election is good. Now a days the women suffrage day is celebrated because it shows how much women had to go through to get their point across, that we are all equal. This image says that if women registered to vote they have the resposibility to assume citizenship, which means that women with their vote are showing that they are a good fellow citizenship.Many equality problems have been resolved everywhere, now women express themselves much better and are not afraid to say what they feel. Women are equal to men in voting, job oppurtunities and education because we want a future that is full of equality and not gender differencetion. Inequality between gender, race, or color does not take us anywhere in the future it just suggest that we are racist towards other people becuase they are different from us. To be human and to be either a male or female means that two minds think alike and try to change the world with their help and opinions on how to establish a better environment. Everyone that is equal get along better and establish better working and communication skills between each other and everyone just gets along.

Biomedical technology is helping to relieve human suffering. Universities in the Boston area have played a significant role in creating these technologies and, in some cases, in helping launch them into companies.
One major challenge for the future is government funding for academic research. National Institutes of Health budgets are virtually stagnant, and that’s a big problem for sustaining the type of research that has enabled academic research to flourish and, in many cases, to provide the platforms for launching biotech companies. Early-stage resources for research have been vitally important. Government support has been the catalyst both for major discoveries and, in many cases, for start-up companies trying to make lifesaving products.
In his recent book, Senator Barack Obama discusses a conversation he and I had when both of us were receiving honorary degrees at Northwestern University. He also rightfully comments on how critical basic research, enabled by adequate government funding, is to the future of our country. Today, the average age of someone getting their first NIH grant is over 40 — a real concern for young people who want to have careers in the biosciences.
On the positive side, I think the next 5 to 10 years will see breakthroughs in many areas of medical biotechnology. For example, look for advances in DNA and SiRNA therapies, cell technology, stem cells, and the treatment of cancer and other diseases. We will also witness advances in convergence technology, where medical devices are combined with drugs to make new kinds of therapeutic systems, as well as in nanotechnology, which can have a great effect on drug delivery, imaging, and diagnostics.
The future of the medical field is being planned out for society to live a healthy life. Much of this is not as cheap as we might think it is actually it is very expensive and requires help from the government to flourish. Barack Obama, our president says that this basic research of finding new ways to cure diseases and find new medicine it's the right of the government to help because all this new finding is for the future of our country. Much of these new medical research will help us humans live a longer life but without suffering, being able to stay healthy, while enjoying life is the best a person could have, it is the best medicine a person could ask for. Althought, it might be so expensive, but it is necessary to provide the cure for humans diseases. In my opinion these advances in medical treatment and new medicine is very good because overall we have had a lot of increase in deaths and not much people are being born because no one wants to bring a baby into this world knowing that there are so many diseases and illneses going around and that the baby could be born with a illness and then have to suffer. Society should be well taken care of because we are the ones that make up this Earth, we are the ones trying to keep everything in peace and trying to take care of our Earth. The future of the medical field is being planned out for society to live a healthy life. Much of this is not as cheap as we might think it is actually it is very expensive and requires help from the government to flourish. Barack Obama, our president says that this basic research of finding new ways to cure diseases and find new medicine it's the right of the government to help because all this new finding is for the future of our country. Much of these new medical research will help us humans live a longer life but without suffering, being able to stay healthy, while enjoying life is the best a person could have, it is the best medicine a person could ask for. Althought, it might be so expensive, but it is necessary to provide the cure for humans diseases. In my opinion these advances in medical treatment and new medicine is very good because overall we have had a lot of increase in deaths and not much people are being born because no one wants to bring a baby into this world knowing that there are so many diseases and illneses going around and that the baby could be born with a illness and then have to suffer. Society should be well taken care of because we are the ones that make up this Earth, we are the ones trying to keep everything in peace and trying to take care of our Earth. The government is the one that is helping these companies flourish and to be able and provide society with the best health and medicine services.

How does our future government look like?
People of our society want a governement that provides them with the best public transpotation to get them to places, like their jobs. Also economic issues need a new direction that our job government will work with at a faster, smarter and more efficiently way.The key to this whole governmental transformation is innovation, the changes and new methods that are introduced.The governement is trying to make a transformation, so the economy works better and people are satisfied with what is happening, change will come if everyone gets together and helps out.
Now a days we do need a better government because we are losing money and many people are out of their jobs. Our economy is not the best right now, during this 21st century companies have had to close down their companies because there is no money to pay their employees and to keep up.
All of society depends on the government to make changes, to provide better services, such as public transportation to get around and better health care. There is a lot of money involved in these services because there is equipment that should be consired and different forms that should be passed to provide everyone with the better living. The college of Europe is helping to transform leaders and in preparing them for a better future to deal with problems of social security and health care and transportation. Society depends on the government for benefits, but the government has let us down a couple of times, and that is why president Barack Obama wants change, and be able to keep the United States out of problems . Future See-Through Airbus
Overall, our technology is advancing and in the future we will be flying in one of this "big birds." The purpose is to introduce and persuade people to fly on this airbus and take advantage of flying with the great comforts it offers. This airbus would be used with high technology meaning that plane tickets might be more expensive because the comforts of this plane, include nice seats, mini golf and the possible way of showing you in which direction you are traveling.
This way we also manipulate people's mind becuse they see this video and immediately can't wait for the year 2050 to hit and introduce this plane to be able and fly on it. Lots of money would be used to construct this airplane and be able and satisfies people's needs. Being alive you can enjoy the pleasure of flying with this airbus and getting to where you need to get within hours.
